THE LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION JOURNAL

Privacy Policy

What this website collects, what it does not, and the choices you have. Last updated 22 October 2026.

The short version

Meaanings is a reading website. We do not require accounts, we do not sell personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers. The interactive tools on this site — including Word Check — run entirely in your browser; your lookups are not transmitted to or stored by us.

What we collect

  • Newsletter subscriptions: if you subscribe to The Sunday Usage Letter, we store your email address solely to send that letter. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
  • Contact messages: if you email us, we keep the correspondence to answer you and to maintain an editorial record.
  • Aggregate analytics: privacy-respecting, aggregated statistics (pages read, approximate region, device type) that cannot identify individual readers.

Cookies

This site uses only the strictly necessary storage required for it to function. We do not set advertising cookies and do not embed social-media trackers.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (in practice: a newsletter subscription or our email correspondence) at any time via the contact page, and we will comply promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the change will be noted at the top of this page with a new date before it takes effect.
